The Embassy of Canada in Belgrade is seeking to fulfill the full time indeterminate position of Receptionist

Summary of Duties

Under the supervision of the Common Service Officer, Receptionist operates the central telephone switchboard serving all programs of the mission; provides general information to visitors on the Consular, Cultural and Trade Programs; controls physical access to the Chancery and provides a front-line security system; and performs other duties.

Essential qualifications

The incumbent is required to hold a Secondary School Diploma, to be fluent in Serbian, English and French, both written and oral. He/she must also have at least 2 years of experience in a similar position. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and phone switchboard is also required.

N.B. Failure to meet any of the essential qualifications eliminates candidates from further consideration in the competition.

Additional Qualifications

As a condition of employment, candidates must be able to work legally in Serbia, must be able to obtain and retain an enhanced reliability clearance (security clearance) and must have a valid and complete medical checkup.

Secondary school diploma in administration will be considered as an asset.

Candidates must be able to show that they possess effective interactive communication in Serbian, English and French and ability to work with difficult clients.

Competencies required include: outstanding client service skills; professional integrity, discretion and good judgment; effective performance under pressure; adaptability and flexibility.

The applicant has to be a team player, able to establish good interpersonal relationship with colleagues and supervisors.
